Dear Friends,
We want to thank everyone that attended the Last Days Bible
Conference this year for the part you played in making the
conference a success. Many of
you traveled from a long distance to attend and we trust that the
time you spent to take in the conference was well worth it and that
you found the conference to be a blessing. Please take the time to
contact us; we would love to hear how the conference was an
encouragement to you.
This year’s conference, held at the Marlborough Community center in
Calgary AB, proved to us once again that conferences such as this
are serving a vital role in the Christian community today.
It is essential for us as Christians to be reminded regularly
of what God’s word says concerning our Lord’s return and this annual
conference gives us just such an opportunity. This time together
gives us an opportunity to highlight events unfolding in our world
today that would seem to indicate that His return is very near and
also to look into His word to see what it has to say about His
return. Not only is it
good to look into these things but the writer of The Revelation
promised “..blessing to those who read and those who hear the words
of this prophecy,” (Rev 1:3)
and the Apostle John
spoke of the purifying effect that the hope of our Lord’s return has
on our lives. (1 Jn 3:3)
Pastor Art Sadlier spoke
concerning Israel’s past, present and future wars.
As we look at the events
unfolding in the Middle East, it appears that a future conflict for
Israel with its resident and neighboring enemies might not be very
far away. These conflicts seem to be markers on the time line
leading up to the events of the end of the age and the Lord’s
return.(Matt. 24:4-14)
It was good to have Charles Clough with us from Bel Air Maryland, he
spoke about Paganism and its existence since the very beginning. He
highlighted the conflict that exists between the truth and pagan
beliefs and showed us how we can confidently and effectively
confront such beliefs with the truth using Paul’s defense at Mars
Hill as an example. (Acts
17:22-31)
John Plantz was with us Friday afternoon and reminded us again who
God is as clearly stated in His word.
Carl Teichrib talked about the challenges mankind faces as he
rejects the idea of God and increasingly looks to himself for the
solutions to a broken and sin marred world.
Man’s prideful propensity to look inward for answers rather
than looking to God is a trap we all fall into at times. It was a
good reminder to not let our own sinful heart deceive us but instead
look to the Lord and allow His word to guide us, that’s where real
hope is found.
All of the sessions are available under the Media tab and I would
encourage you to take the time to listen to them, I’m sure you will
find them very informative and a real blessing.
Next year’s conference will be held again at the Marlborough
community Center on April 26&27, 2013. Our speakers will include
Warren Smith, Ray Yungen and Steve Hertzig. It promises to be just
as good as this year and we hope to see you there, don’t forget to
bring a friend.
